Her four bridesmaids were Misses Violet Groome (niece of the bride), Gwen Mansell (cousin of the bridegroom), and Ada Groome (niece of the bride), and Miss Pearson (cousin of the bride). They wore dresses of champagne muslin, with large hats trimmed with pink roses. Each carried a bouquet of white roses and pink sweet peas. Mr B C Tomkins, of London, cousin of the bridegroom, and son of the late Rev W J Tomkins, was the best man. A reception, at which a large number of guests assembled was afterwards held at the Waverley Hotel, and Mr and Mrs Flood left by the 3.53pm train for Wickersley, near Rotherham, Yorkshire, where the honeymoon is being spent. Mrs Flood’s travelling costume was of navy blue serge, trimmed with white cloth, and navy blue hat, with white feather boa. A large collection of handsome and useful presents were received.
