The marriage was solemnised at the Independent Wesleyan Church, Rushden, on July 8^th, of Miss Nellie Adams, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Adams of 11 Midland-road, Rushden, and Pte. H. A. Crane, A.S.C., eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Crane, Higham-hill Rushden. The Rev. S. J. Smith (Wellingborough) officiated. The bride, who was given away by her father, was tastefully attired in white voile, with hat to match, trimmed with a white feather. She carried a choice bouquet of lilies, carnations and fern, the gift of the bridegroom. The bridesmaid, Miss Edith Crane (sister of the bridegroom), wore a pretty dress of white embroidery, and with leghorn hat. The duties of best man were carried out by Sergt. W. H. Adams, 7/4^th Canadians (brother of the bride). A reception at the bride’s home followed the ceremony. Pte and Mrs Crane were the recipients of many useful presents, including a wicker chair from the employees of the Coxton Shoe Co., where the bride worked prior to her marriage.
