On Saturday last a pretty wedding was solemnised at St. Peter’s Church, by the Rev. P. Barnwell Spriggs, Vicar of St. Peter’s, the parties being Miss Amy Mobbs, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. Mobbs, of 7, Sussex-place, Rushden, and Mr. Lawrence Arthur Barnes, of 110, Glassbrook-road, Rushden. The bride, who was prettily attired in white satin with shoes to match, and a bridal veil and carried a bouquet of pink and white carnations was given away by her father, Mr. F. Mobbs, the best man being Mr. George Barnes (brother of the bridegroom). The bride was attended by two bridesmaids, Miss Ivy Mobbs (sister) and Miss Frances Payne (friend) who wore dresses of blue satin and carried bouquets of pink tulips.
The happy couple were the recipients of many beautiful and useful presents among which were an oak table and linen basket, given to the bride from Messrs. W. W. Chamberlain and Sons, and an oak clock and a pair of candlesticks, given to the bridegroom from the Rushden Co-operative Society.
