Born in Winnipeg, Canada, shaven-headed, tough and tenacious, Doug Joyce comes from Rushden. Several times, Joyce found himself challenging, the mid-heavyweight class leaders, for the British and European championships.

As a schoolboy he won a wrestling championship in his native Winnipeg; a professional wrestler for over ten years.
