Doug and his brother Ken both enjoyed fame in wrestling in the 1960's and 1970's, and also appeared in many events shown on television.
The company was founded by Doug Joyce in the 1960s. The building, on a plot which was used by United Counties buses as a resting place, stood in front of the Scout Headquarters building. The building was greatly enlarged as the business grew, and an eye-catching red, white and blue strip was added.
The business expanded and now offers vehicle servicing and MOT testing, as well as tyres.
