Cub Scouts return from camp

RUSHDEN and District Scouts returned on Saturday night from their weekend camp at Manor Farm, Newton Bromshold.

Sixty Cub Scouts from the 1st, 2nd, 6th and 8th Rushden packs, and boys from Raunds, Higham Ferrers and Thrapston attended the  camp from Friday to Saturday night.

The camp chief was Mr. A. P. Head, Cub Scout leader for the Higham Ferrers pack.

Model Raft

On Saturday afternoon a nature trail and the making and floating of a model raft had to be called off because of the bad weather.

After tea on Saturday parents visited the camp and a camp fire ceremony was led by Mr. Reg Brown, the Assistant District Commissioner for Cub Scouts, and Mrs. M. Knott, Assistant Cub Scout leader for the 2nd Rushden (St. Mary's) Pack.

Yesterday a "Cubs' Own" service was held at the Newton Bromshold Church.
