Florence Brooks (seated left) was a committee member for the bowls club, and also won several cups herself. Her daughter Pauline, then aged 11, presented flowers at the end of the presentations.

Clearly in 1949 but what is the event? and where?

bowling in 1954
Surprise of the week came on Wednesday – there wasn’t a drop of rain all day. Rushden’s bowling enthusiasts took advantage of the dry and reasonably sunny spell and were out in force on the green at Spencer Park.
Every rink was occupied and it was reported to be the busiest time the greens had had throughout the holiday.
