1937 Coronation

Street Meeting Residents of Spencer-road have taken up the official request that each street should be responsible for its own decorations on Coronation Day. About fifty of them attended a meeting at the hut in Spencer Park on Wednesday evening and decided to commence at once with a scheme of weekly subscriptions. Mr. E. H. Morgan presided and the following appointments were made: Collectors, Miss Brown, Mrs. Tuckey, Mrs. Hales, Mrs. Pettit, Miss Pinnock, Mrs. Moore, Mrs. Harlow, Mrs. Cooke and Mr. D. Parker; decoration committee, Mrs. Pettit, Mrs. Hales, Mrs. Tuckey, Miss E. Bryant, Miss K. Cooper, Mrs. Harlow, Mrs. Hardwick, Miss Pinnock, Mrs. Elliott and Mrs. Palmer; men's committee, Messrs. Rawlins, Ellis, Tuckey, Morgan, Percival and Skinner; treasurer, Mr. J. W. Cooke; secretary, Mr. L. V. Elliott. (Reports of other street meetings will be welcomed.)
