A series of photographs taken by Clive Wood, who has a great interest in buildings and their preservation. Clive took these in about 1995, to record one of the oldest buildings in Rushden. On 30th January 1908 J Enos Smith visited the farm and sketched a date stone 1606, 'near the front door facing Bedford Road', and suggested it was built by the Pembertons. He also noted that on a pane in an upstairs window "May our charity increase as our purse fills - a good toast March 6th 1811", and it was broken, but Mrs Willmott said Mr Sartoris wished it not to be repaired. |
