This Arts and Crafts style house was built for John White, owner of the boot and shoe manufacturers, John White Impregnable Ltd. John and his wife, Nancy, had been living at Nenehurst in Kimbolton Road. He applied to Rushden Urban Council for planning permission in October 1928, to build at the corner of Wellingborough Road and Purvis Road, and the following year added a greenhouse.
John and Nancy did not stay here long, but returned to Nenehurst, now remodelled and renamed Ferrers Mere. |
