Poor Law - Solicitors Account - 1829/30
with some General Business

The Church Wardens and Overseers of the Poor would instruct a solicitor to
act on their behalf at the Magistrates Court or the Quarter Sessions Court.
These two pages of accounts shows some of the work they were doing in
relation to removals, settlements and general court cases in 1829/30.
This Account shows the lengths to which the parish would go in order to remove paupers
sometimes paying more to the solicitor than the pauper might have had in relief.
