I have decided to weigh and measure the children who are to be medically inspected this morning. 

This morning two children who were present were marked absent in Class II and two children in Class III who were present were also marked absent.  These children came in late and as the morning was so snowy I took them to be warmed in the Baby room.  The teachers were unaware of their presence and so marked them absent.  I have rectified the error and have called attention to this notice by a foot note in the registers.

The school closes today for the annual Feast holiday and re-opens on Wednesday next.  This afternoon as a circus is visiting town I have received notice from Mr Colson, Chairman of the Rushden Education Committee to assemble school at 12.50, close the registers at 1 and dismiss at 2.30.  This morning school will close at 11.45.

Miss Kate Wood commenced duties as a certificated teacher in this school this morning.

This afternoon by order of the Rushden Educational Sub-committee the school will open at 12.40.  The registers will be finally closed at 1.05 and the children dismissed at 3.35.  This afternoon I inadvertently marked Doris Robinson of Class 1 absent when she was present.  A teacher had sent her on an errand into the Mixed Dept and I was unaware that she was present.  I have rectified the error and have called attention to this explanation by a foot note in the registers.

This arrangement is being made by the managers to enable the children to visit a travelling menagerie.
