Evening Continuation School

Rushden Echo, 3rd April 1925, transcribed by Kay Collins

The Annual Supper and social of the Rushden Evening Continuation School students was held on Friday last. The younger scholars, about 100 in number, were regaled with a good repast in the mixed department, the tables being presided over by the teachers and friends. Following the supper, a pleasant time was spent at games, dancing, etc., for which music was provided by Miss Alderman and Mr W E A Sherwood, and the youngsters were highly delighted with selections by Mr “Tiddley” Smith (character comedian).

Mr L Perkins, B.Sc., principal of the school, was the M.C. In the infants' department over 100 elder scholars, teachers, and friends assembled for a social and dance. Mr J W Reynolds was the M.C., and the Students' Band provided the music. Refreshments were served.
