Fire at the Old Theatre

After it was burned down

Bedford Way Motors took over the old Royal Theatre from Croyland Motors who had traded there since 1962.
In June 1977 fire swept through the building and caused
more than £¼ million worth of damage.

After the fire the building was much reduced in size and was used for a time by various small business, including a printer and Lockit & Glazit.
Finally demolished in 2006.
