On joining the Co-op a unique number was given to each member. The number was quoted when a purchase was made, and at the end of each half year the total spent entitled the member to a percentage return and this could be paid out on 'Divi Day' or left to accrue in a membership account. This card is from the late 1960s, and was also used to cast a vote at Members' meetings.
