SPECIAL NOTICE

Recent events in other parts of the country prompt, not only the Government, but each purveyor of food to examine methods of handling and hygiene both personal and as applied to premises in which food is stored and sold to the public.

Managers and staff are reminded of their obligations under the Food Hygiene Regulations and it cannot be stressed too often that it is important to maintain a high degree of personal cleanliness in our food shops.

Shops, fixtures and equipment come under the same regulations and it is the responsibility of managers to keep shops, warehouses and rear of premises clean and tidy and free from refuse - which must be contained in a bin with a lid.

The food that is sold must be in first class condition when displayed for sale and if there is any doubt of a commodity it should be withdrawn from sale and immediately referred to the Grocery Office, or where shop deliveries are made - direct to the delivery salesman.
Any difficulty in conforming with the Food Hygiene Regulations please report them, in writing, to my office.
