47 Newton Road was bought by the Co-op in 1960

Mr Billingham and James Harold Cook ran a bakery at 47 Newton Road from 1920 until 1928.
Mr Billingham left James about 1930, and James traded alone until at least 1940.
James also ran a bakery shop at 49 High Street, Irthlingborough.

After standing empty for sometime, the Co-op bought the premises about 1960 and soon refurbished it.
