Felix Kocon was a watchmaker. In 1953 he married Beatrice Leeder in Lancashire. Beatrice was born in 1938 in Woolwich LND. They came to Rushden soon after their marriage. In September 1956 Felix applied to make an addition to 93-95 High Street. He moved to 182 Wellingborough Road, in the 1960s. He was cremated on 2nd February 1999, and is commemorated on the Cemetery Wall 39. Beatrice Kocon ARPS, APAGB - About 1950 Beatrice became interested in photography aged just 12. In 1957 Beatrice joined the Rushden and District Photographic Society, and joined the committee the following year. In 1975 she was chairman, a post she held several times, showing much of her work in exhibitions, and also won many trophies. In 1989 Beatrice was granted a Fellowship by the Royal Photographic Society, for her hand-coloured monochrome prints. She retired as R.D.P.S. president in 2007. |
