Copy of the Probate
of The Will of
Mrs Mary Church,
of Higham Ferrers,
dated 12th June 1830

This is the last Will and Testament of me Mary Church of Higham Ferrers in the County of Northampton Widow made when of sound mind memory and understanding I give and bequeath to my son William Church the Legacy or sum of Five pounds to be paid to him within twelve Calendar months from the time of my decease by my Executor hereinafter named I give and bequeath to my Daughter Sarah the wife of W Richard Slater Officer of Excise All my wearing apparel I give and Devise to my Grandson Thomas Church the son of my said Son William Church All that my Copyhold Messuage Tenement or dwelling house situate and being in Rushden in the said County of Northampton near to the North side of the Church with the Entry passage Barn Yard Garden Orchard Outbuildings and appurtenances thereunto belonging now in the occupation of Thomas Packwood and to which I was admitted Tenant at a Court held in and for the Manor of Rushden aforesaid on the twenty first day of May last on the surrender of Ann Hewitt and William Hewitt of whom I purchased the same To hold the same with the appurtenances unto and to the use of my said Grandson Thomas Church his heirs and assigns for ever I give and bequeath to my said Grandson Thomas Church his Executors and administrators All the rest and residue of my personal Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever (not by me hereinbefore given or disposed of) subject to the payment of my debts Funeral and Testamentary expences And I do herby appoint my said Grandson Thomas Church sole Executor of this my Will In witness whereof I the said Mary Church have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this twelfth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty.
