Rushden Echo, 24th May 1918, transcribed by Kay Collins
Killed
Mr. and Mrs. C. Currall, East End, Stanwick, have received news of the death of their youngest son, Pte. A. E. G. Currall, of the Buffs. Pte. Currall joined the Colours on October 18th 1917, before which he worked for Mr. Charles Parker, Higham Ferrers. A lieutenant of the Buffs writes that though the deceased soldier had only been with the battalion a short time he was immensely popular with everyone in the company. “It may be of some consolation,” he adds, “to know that his death was instantaneous, and that he suffered no pain. He is being buried today.” Deceased was 18 years of age last September.
