Stanwick Soldier Killed - A Higham Ferrers Workman

Pte. Sidney Cox, 2nd Suffolk Regiment, aged 20, son of Mrs. T. Nutt, of The Avenue, Stanwick, has been killed in action. A native of Stanwick, he was before joining the Forces in the employment of Messrs. Charles Parker, boot manufacturers, Higham Ferrers. Enlisting in the Norfolks, he was afterwards transferred to the Suffolks. In August 1917, he was sent to France, and on being wounded was invalided to England, returning to France at the latter end of August this year. Deceased was at one time a member of the Stanwick Boy Scouts. A brother, Pte. Cecil Cox, Northants Territorials, was killed at the Dardanelles in August 1915. Two other brothers are with the Colours, as also is the step-father, Mr. T. Nutt.
