E W Braybrook were merchants and hauliers, trading from Newton Road, Higham Ferrers.
In the 1960s they were carrying hardcore and soil to fill a deep hole where brickmaking clay and sand had once been dug at the Rushden Brick & Tile works, of John Clark, and next to his home Heatherbreea, in Wellingborough Road, Rushden.
The company also transported much of the sand and gravel being extracted at the Skew Bridge site of Ferrersand. The land eventually became the home of a dry ski slope, and then water skiing on the lakes, at the Skew Bridge Ski Club.
