THIS well known and old established firm was founded in 1889 by Mr. John Horrell, who had been manager of a large firm for many years. Mr. J. C. Horrell came into the business at its commencement and has grown up with the business, learning the practical part of the trade, and giving of his best to the firm's customers. He was taken into partnership in 1897, and for several years has managed the business. From time to time the factory has been enlarged. Mr. A. Horrell, aged 17, elder son of Mr. J. C. Horrell, is now learning the practical side of the business. The trade of the firm is principally with the Government, they having been contractors to H. M. War Office, Admiralty, and Post Office, and since the War have been almost entirely on Government work. They also specialise on Fishermen's and Sailors' Thigh Boots, Knee and Wellington Boots, besides Bluchers and Miners' Boots for the Home and South African markets.
