May it please Your Majesty, We The Mayor, Aldermen and Burgesses of the Ancient Borough of Higham Ferrers, humbly offer to Your Majesty our loyal greetings at the beginning of this, the 700th Year of our incorporation as a Borough, and most humbly we beg to assure Your Majesty of the loyal devotion of your loving subjects, the Burgesses of this Borough.
