Henry Sparre - will 1616

In the name of God. Amen. I Henry Sparre of Newton Broms [torn off] in the Cowntye of Northamton yeoman beinge sicke of bodye but of pf[torn, will be ‘perfect’] rememberance thankes be to God. Doe make and constitute this my la[st] will and testament in maner and forme as followethe.

that is to saye first I give and bequeathe my soule into the hands of Almightie god my[ne] creator and redeemer., and my bodye to be buryed in the churche or churcheyard of Newton aforesaid, and as concerning the disposion [sic] of my goods,

I give unto my sonne Jonas Sparre fortye shillings and my best clooke, and my best dowblet and my gwne;

Item I give to my dafter Alse bosworthe fower powndes;

It[em] I give to John Hensman. All the reent for the tyme past and his dwellinge until Michaellmus next.

It[em] I give to Elizebethe Hensman one stocke of bees.

It[em] I give to John Sparre five shillings.

It[em] I give to Jhon [sic] Hensman one old sute of reparrell [presumably apparel] one gerkin [jerkin] one dowblet one paire of leether hose one pare of stockinges one paire of showes and one hat;

It[em] I give to Michaell Allingam xii d.

It[em] I give to Thomas Riseley xii d whom I do make sup[er]visors and overseers of this my last will and Testament.

The residue of my goods unbequeathed my debts beinge discharged and my Funderalls costes finished I give and bequeathe them to Margrtt Sparre my welbeloved wief, whom I make my sole Executrix to receave my debts and to pay all debts.

This will was made the viij day of Aprill in the yeare of our Lord God, 1616: Theise beinge witneses; Thomas Riseley, Robard Cordell, Mychaell Allingham,
