In the name of god Amen: the fifte daye of Apryll in the yeare of owr lorde god 1616: and in the fourteeneth yeare of the raigne of owr soveraigne Lorde James by the grace of god Kinge of Englande Scottlande France and Ireland defender of the fayth: [etc] : and of Scotlands fortie nom[something]. I Roberte Grante of Newnton Bromshoulde in the Cowntie of Northton yeoma[n] sicke in bodie but of perfect memorie thanks be to Almightie god doe make this my laste wyll and teastamet in maner and forme folowinge.

First I comende my soule unto the blessed and glorious Trinitie and truste to be saved by the mediatio[n] of Jesus Christe myne only saviour and redeemer: and my bodie to be buried in the churcheyearde of Newnton aforesaide.

Itm I geve and bequeath towards the repayre of the churche xvi pence:

Itm I geve and bequeath unto William Grante my sone the halfe accre of korne that lyeth above the parke and a roode of pease that lyeth in the bunche [?] homes.

Itm I geve and bequeath unto my sone John Grante xx s in readie money yf he himselfe doe demande it [or?] come for it.

Item I geve and bequeath unto Angnes Grante the daughter of my son Thomas Grante the coffer that stands by her grandmothers bedside with all the lynen that is within it only the best sheete excepted and alsoe I geve to the saide Angnes a reade coatue bullocke.

Itm I geve [something] unto Robert Grante the sone of Thomas Grant my sone the littell baye horse that came from Knottinghe and three sheeppe.

The rest and the residue of my goods whatsoever my debts, legaces paid and funnerall expenses discharged I geve and bequeath unto Thomas Grante myne oldest sonne whome I make my sole executor of this my laste wyll and teastament.

In witness wheareof I putt to my hande the daye of yeare above specified before these witnesses whose names do under written.
