John Ellson - will 1839

In the Name of God Amen.
I John Ellson of Newton Bromshold in the County of Northampton, being of sound Mind and Memory thanks be to God, Do make and ordain this to be my last Will and Testament in manner and form following, that is to say, I Give Devise and Bequeath unto the whole of my Brothers and Sisters and to the Children of those who are Deceased the whole of my Personal Estate and Effects, ready money securities for money and all other my Property, of whatsoever nature or sort the same may be or consist of at the time of my Decease,to be equally divided betwixt them share and share alike or in equal shares and proportions, And my Will is that my Brothers and Sisters who are Blood kin, and Brothers and Sisters in Law shall only have the interest or proceeds arising from his, her, or their share or shares during the term of their natural lives, and then at his her or their Decease, My Will is that the Principal or his her or their part shall descend to their Offspring or Children share and share alike or in equal shares and proportions, Furthermore my Will is that Thomas Cowley who married my Sister who died without issue, shall not have any part of my Property, I exclude him the said Thomas Cowley from having any part of the same, And my Will is for the Legacies not to be paid until twelve calendar months and a day after my Decease – And lastly I do hereby nominate and appoint my Nephews Samuel Berridgge Thomas Ellson Snr John Ellson the son of Ann Ellson my three Executors of and to this my last and Testament – hereby revoking and making void all other former Will or Wills by me at any time heretofore made – I do declare this present writing and none other, to be and contain my last Will and Testament, In witness whereof I the said John Ellson have hereunto set my hand and seal this twentieth day of November in the year of our Lord One Thousand eight hundred and thirty seven.

On the 25th day of September 1839 Samuel Berridge of South Kilworth in the county of Leicester 'Farmer', Thomas Ellson Snr also of South Kilworth aforesaid 'Farmer' and John Ellson of Lubenham in the county of Leicester aforesaid 'Butcher' Executors named in the within Will were sworn well and faithfully to fulfil the same according to Law and that the goods chattels and credits of the within named Deceased at the time of his Death which happened on the 29 Day of March 1839 did not amount in value to four hundred and ninety pounds ten shillings.
