In January 1934 Arthur W Osborne applied to Rushden Council planning to build 6 bungalows in Bedford Road/Avenue Road, and in May to build 5 more in Bedford Road. In August he made another application to build 4 houses in Avenue Road, and in March 1935 for 11 bungalows in Newton Road.

These bungalows in the Newton Road section of Court Estate may be regretted
by the modern planning experts, but the people who live in them are content
with their situation.
