Rushden’s Casualty List

Official news has been received that Pte. Sidney Chas. Green, husband of Mrs Green, of 17, Pebble-lane, Wellingborough, and formerly of 7, Thrift-cottages, Wellingboro’-road, Rushden, was killed in action on June 19th.  The late Pte. Green, who is a brother of Mrs Harris, of Brookfield-road, Rushden, was 34 years of age, and had been with the Colours nearly three years.  He was recently wounded, and met his death very soon after returning to the trenches from hospital.  He was formerly employed by Messrs. William Green and Sons, boot manufacturers, Rushden.  He leaves a widow and one little boy to mourn their loss.
