Note the two central thatched roofs in the foreground of both pictures. To the right of these are some Duck Street properties, up to the left High Street, and on upwards to Rectory Road.

The large building on the skyline with two chimneys is possibly the Northamptonshire Union Bank.

The wagon on the road is a water sprinkler to reduce dust; in the foreground a railway worker.
The large building on the skyline with two chimneys is possibly the Northamptonshire Union Bank.
The large roof below the church spire is the back of Cave & Sons factory built in 1904 following the great fire of 1901.
And this is what was eventually built: St John's, Swimming Pool taken from a little nearer the railway station.
