Mrs S Clark, Midland representative of the English Folk Dance and Song Society visited the school from 3pm to 4pm and took the three top classes for dancing in the girls’ playground.

Mr J Hardwick absent since he had been granted permission to attend the East Midlands Regional national Savings Conference as a schools’ representative at Skegness.
Miss J D Botterill ceased duty at 4pm today. She is taking a supplementary course in Divinity at St Michael’s House, Oxford, as from october 12th. She returns here for duty on July 9th 1962.

Mr Dyment, Mr Hardwick and Miss hooton acted as hon invigilators at Alfred St Jnr School.

Mr H E Sanders, an old boy of this school and the present Chief Constable of Blackpool, visited the school this morning. He visited his old classroom and met the staff at playtime.

Forty children accompanied by Mr Muncey and Mr Whitworth went to Birmingham at 9.15am. 24 were dancing and 16 were spectators at the Festival of Folk Danceand song sposored by the English Folk Dance and Song Society in the Central Hall. The children have been preparing for this Festival throughout the term. The class meets on Thursdays at 4pm in the Infants school Hall.

Mrs Hornsey, school secretary, recommenced her duties here after her long illness, since Mrs Sturgess finished her temporary duties on Wednesday last.
