Organ Funds as War Memorial
Rushden Baptists Also Plan Better Sports Field
Rushden Park-road Baptist Church has set out to raise during the next four years £3,500 as an organ fund to make improvements to the Recreation Field in Allen-road.
The present organ has been in constant use for over 50 years and is the only one of its type in this country. It is now in such condition that if repaired it could not give any lasting satisfaction. At a meeting of the church and congregation it was agreed to have it rebuilt and to use again those parts that have not deteriorated, or alternatively to purchase a new organ, this to serve as a memorial to those connected with the church who have given their lives in the preset conflict. The improvement to the Recreation Field will serve as a thanksgiving for those who will return. [part of a longer article]
