The 50th tea and meeting of the Raunds Temperance Society was held under the presidency of Mr. George Bass.The treasurer (Mr. Harry Lawrence) presented his accounts, showing a balance in hand of £3/9/10½.The secretary (Mr. Sam Smith) reported on the past year, which, he said, had been one of steady work. The election of officers then took place, and resulted:- President, Mr. Wm. Ekins (of 50 years’ standing); vice-presidents, Messrs G. Bass and J. T. Tebbutt; secretary, Mr. Sam Smith; assistant secretary, Mr. A. Tebbutt; treasurer, Mr. H. Lawrence; financial secretary, Mr. G. L. Miller
