Bellringing The annual meeting of the Central Northamptonshire Association of Church Bellringers was held at Raunds on Whit-Monday. Ringing commenced about 11am. Owing to food restrictions, the usual luncheon was omitted. A service was held at 2pm, conducted by the president, the Rev. R Copeman, Rector of Stoke Albany, Miss O Clark being at the organ. The annual business meeting was held in the Church Institute. The Rev. F H Lang, Rector of Twywell, was elected president for the year. The balance-sheet showed a good balance on the year’s working. Ald. Owen Parker, O.B.E., proposed thanks to the Vicar for the use of the bells, and to the Rev. R Copeman for his services during the year. The following belfries were represented: Raunds, Northampton, Kingsthorpe, Weston Favel, Burton Latimer, Cranford, Isham, Kettering, Finedon, Orlingbury, Earls Barton, Easton Maudit, Higham Ferrers, Thrapston, Irthlingborough, Wellingborough, Tichmarsh, Ringstead, and Twywell.
