Roll of Honour Unveiled at Higham
Addresses by the Mayor and the Mayor’s Chaplain
Impressive Ceremony by the Mayoress

On Sunday evening in the Wesleyan Methodist Church, Higham Ferrers, a most impressive service was held in connection with the unveiling of the roll of honour which contains the names of 164 soldiers and sailors who are serving their King and Country. A letter was sent the previous week to those whose husbands’, sons’, brothers’ names were on the roll, and an announcement of the Service was placed in every house in the town. The church was crowded, and seats had to be placed in the aisles to accommodate the people. The beautiful roll of honour, which has been prepared by a London artist, and the framed photographs of the 25 men who have made the great sacrifice were placed by the side of the Holy Communion Table and covered over with two Union Jacks.
