Stanley Parish


Died In Sicily - Rushden Veteran of Dunkirk and Dieppe

Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Dunmore, of 8, Trafford-road, Rushden, have learned that Signalman Stanley Parish (Mrs. Dunmore’s adopted brother) has died from wounds received in Sicily. Signalman Parish had had many narrow escapes since joining the Army from the Militia before the outbreak of war being in the evacuation of Dunkirk and the raid on Dieppe, where he lost all his personal belongings, then going to N Africa in November of last year. A letter he wrote in July reached Mrs. Dunmore recently.

Sig. Parish was 24 years of age and a former employee in the Tecnic Boot Co’s lasting department. He was a keen sportsman in swimming and tennis.
