NOW BELIEVED KILLED

RUSHDEN SPORTSMAN WHO FLEW IN “LANCASTER”

Sgt, Bernard Clark, R.A.F. of "Wellingtonia", Irchester-road Rushden, previously listed missing after an operational sortie, is now reported "missing— believed killed in action", and the Red Cross and St. John War Organisation, writing to his wife, indicate that detailed information may be available later.

Sgt. Clark, was the wireless  operator of a Lancaster bomber and had been with the R.A.F. since September, 1941.   

Well-known as an amateur footballer and manager of Messrs. Bignells boot factory at Raunds, he was an old boy of Wellingborough School. He was the third son of Mr Charles Clark and his widow is left with a son aged 12.
