The Rushden Echo, 1st October, 1920
Roll Of Honour
A beautifully executed piece of workmanship, one of the last of its kind to be carried out by the late Mr. A. H. Lawson, is the Rushden Rechabites’ War Roll of Honour, which has been placed in the Rushden B.W.T.A. Hall this week at the request of the Rechabites and by the permission of the B.W.T.A. members. The Roll contains 138 names, all exquisitely inscribed in Old English characters on four illuminated panels representative of the Independent Order of Rechabites, the four being framed in oak.
The Roll is a very fitting tribute to the members who served, 23 of whom made the supreme sacrifice. The Roll of Honour is also as regards the workmanship a memorial to the late Mr. Lawson, who was an ardent temperance worker.
