Rushden Soldier's Death - The Late Ex-Gunner H H Willmott Wounded in the War
It is with deep regret that we announce the death of Mr Herbert Harry Willmott, son of Mr and Mrs Thomas Willmott, of 57 Harborough road, Rushden. Deceased, who during the war was a gunner in the R.G.A., was wounded in the right leg, and has been an invalid up to the time of his death. He was loved by little children in the neighbourhood where he lived.
The funeral took place last Saturday afternoon at the Cemetery, the mourners being; Mr and Mrs Willmott (mother and father); Mr Ernest Willmott and Mrs J Johnson (brother and friend); Mr Albert Willmott and Mrs R Evans (brother and sister); Mr Robert Willmott and Mrs J Maddock (brother and sister); Mrs H Bayes and Mr W Maddock (sister and nephew); Mrs R Willmott and Mr J Maddock (sister and brother-in-law), Mrs E Willmott and Miss A Johnson (sister-in-law and friend), Miss D Johnson and Mrs Allen (friends). The wreaths were as follows:
From his sorrowing mother and father "Gone, but not forgotten." From his loving sisters "At Rest."
From his loving brothers "In the midst of life we are in death." From June "Gone but not forgotten." From Hill and Doris "Rest in peace." "With deepest sympathy" from his friends, Compass Inn.
Mr and Mrs Willmott desire to express their deepest thanks to all the many kind friends who have shown sympathy with them in their sad bereavement.
