Pte. J. Whitbread, Northants Regt., of Addington-road, Irthlingborough, was killed in action on April 19th in Egypt. The deceased, who was 27 years of age, enlisted a month after war was declared, and was sent to the Dardanelles. Previous to enlisting he was employed at the Express Works, Irthlingborough. Deceased was a son of the late Mr. Whitbread, formerly of Victoria-road, Rushden, and was a nephew of Mrs. Durham of Park-road, Rushden. A younger brother of the deceased left for France on Tuesday last.
