Rushden Guardsman Killed
Mrs. D. West, of 15, Pemberton-street, Rushden, was officially informed on Monday that her husband, Guardsman Harry Robert West, Grenadier Guards, was killed in action in North Africa on April 28th.
Guardsman West, who was 30 years of age had been serving for nearly three years, and had been in North Africa for about four months as a driver of a Bren gun carrier. Prior to his calling up, he was employed at Messrs. Bignell’s boot factory and was a member of the Athletic Club and a keen fisherman. There is one child, Robin, aged nine months.
