Rushden Soldier Killed
News that their second son, Walter, had been killed in action in North-West Europe at the end of October was received on Thursday by Mr. and Mrs. W. West, of “Dolstan”, Blinco-road, Rushden.
Aged 18, he had been in the Army for nine months, and went to France five weeks ago, then being transferred from the Northamptonshire Regiment to the Cameronians. He attended Newton-road School as a boy and later worked at Messrs. Bignell’s, Crabb-street factory. A brother is in Burma and a sister in the A.T.S.
