Young Sportsman Killed - Higham Bride Bereaved After 11 Weeks

News has been received that Private Kenneth Frederick Tear, Northamptonshire Regiment, has been killed in action after seven weeks in the Central Mediterranean theatre of war. He is the elder son of Mr. and Mrs. F. Tear of Oval-road, Rushden, and eleven weeks ago he was married to Miss Jean Keep who resided at 8 Windmill Banks, Higham Ferrers.

Pte. Tear was 24 years of age and joined the Army in December 1942, after working for Mr. Robert Marriott, builder. As a boy he attended Newton-road School and afterwards was a keen football player for local teams and held a number of trophies. He boxed to some extent also, both in civilian life and for his battalion. His younger brother is serving with the R.A.F.
