From the Burnt Records

Born at Warmington, he was living with his parents at 74 Higham Road, Rushden and running his own dairy business, when he enlisted at Rushden on 8th December 1916. He asked to join either a vetinary corps or the horse artillery, and was examined two days later at Rushden, was 29 years old, 5'10" tall, weighed 156lbs, and chest 38" (2" expansion). He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion Northants Regt. and then posted on 10th February 1917 and sent to Bologne, from where he joined the 6th Battalion Northants Regt. in the field on 5th March 1917. Reported missing, he was presumed killed on 10th August 1917.
