Mrs Spriggs, of 136, High-street South, Rushden, has received official news that her husband, Pte. Charles Henry Spriggs, Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers, aged 38, was killed in action on October 10th. Deceased, who leaves a widow and one child, joined the
County
Regiment
three years ago, and after fighting in Salonika and
Egypt
, was transferred to the Western front last June. He came home on his first leave about two months ago. The late Pte. Spriggs, up to the time of joining the Colours, was employed by Messrs. Coggins, of Raunds, in which town he resided with his family until he joined the Forces.

To France to Die - Rushden Man Killed in Action
Pte C H Spriggs, of the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers, son of Mr and Mrs Spriggs, Gordon-road, Wellingborough, and husband of Mrs Spriggs, High-street-south, Rushden, has been killed in action. The deceased soldier joined the Northants Regiment three years ago, and served in Egypt. He went to France about four months ago, and was killed on October 10th. The deceased soldier, who was the uncle of Signaller Spriggs, formerly of the "Evening Telegraph" office staff, Wellingborough, worked for Messrs. Coggins, of Raunds, and was a well-known skittle player.
