Missing Second Time - Rushden R.A.F. Sergeant

For the second time during the war Sergt. Fred Spencer, whose parents reside at 78, Robinson-road, Rushden, has been reported missing as a result of air operations. In June of last year, a delay in the post saved his parents much needless anxiety, for a message stating that he was safe was received before the one stating that he was missing. Sergt. Spencer, who is a wireless operator-air gunner in the R.A.F., is now missing on air operations in the Mediterranean. He has been serving in Malta and previously served in Libya from January, 1942. Before he joined up in December, 1940, he was a keen footballer and cricketer, having played for Rushden Town F.C. Res. and Rushden Town C.C. He was employed by Mr. S. L. Hunt, printer, and is an old Intermediate Schoolboy.
