Rushden Gunner A War Prisoner
The official news that her husband, Gunner William Seamarks, R.A., is a prisoner of war in Japanese hands and interned in a camp in Borneo, was received by Mrs A. Seamarks, of 73, Glassbrook-road, Rushden, on Monday. It was the first news that Mrs. Seamarks had received of her husband for fourteen months.
Gunner Seamarks joined the Army in July, 1941, after being employed by Messrs John Cave and Sons, boot manufacturers, since leaving school. He was a member of the Windmill Club, and was well known in the town as a footballer and billiards player.
