Rushden’s Casualty List - Private Harold Perkins

Some time ago we reported that Pte. Harold Perkins (Northants Regiment), son of Mr Jas. Perkins, of 28, Albion-place, Rushden, was officially reported as missing from his unit since March 21st. His father has, through the medium of the Red Cross Association, received a letter from a comrade who states that he has reason to believe that Pte. Perkins was killed by a shell. He adds that Pte. Perkins had gone to speak to the Sergt. Major, and whilst in conversation with him a German shell burst about two yards from them, and it is feared that both were killed. Mr Perkins has not, however, as stated by a contemporary, received official news of their son’s death.
