Rushden Soldier Wounded - Private Arthur Pendered in Hospital
Mr and Mrs Pendered, Harborough-road, Rushden, have just received news that their second son, Pte Arthur Pendered, Norfolk Regt, is in hospital in London, suffering from a shrapnel would in the upper right arm.
Pte Arthur Pendered joined up in September 1916, in the Suffolk Yeomanry, and then was transferred to the Norfolk Regiment. He went to France in April, 1917. Before he joined the Army he was employeed by Messrs. Green and Son, Rushden.

Rushden’s Casualty List - In the Great German Offensive
Pte. A. Pendered, second son of Mr and Mrs William Pendered, of 24, Harborough-road, Rushden, is officially reported missing. Enlisting in the Norfolks, Pte. Pendered was afterwards transferred to the North Staffs Regiment. He has been out in France twice. Twelve months ago he was wounded in the upper right arm. He was invalided home, and went back to France on Good Friday last. On April 15th he was reported as missing from his regiment. Mrs Pendered would be grateful if any of her son’s comrades can give her further information of his whereabouts. |

SOLDIER'S DEATH - Pte A Pendered, 2/6th North Staffs Regiment, aged 32, second son of Mr W Pendered, 24, Harborough-road, Rushden, who has been missing since April 15th, 1918, is now presumed to have been killed on that date. He was formerly employed by Messrs. W Green and Sons.

Missing Rushden Soldier Presumed Dead
We are sorry to record that Pte A Pendered, 2nd/6th North Staffs Regt., second son of Mr W Pendered, 24, Harborough-road, Rushden, who has been missing since April 15th, 1918, is now presumed to been have killed on that date. The deceased soldier was 32 years of age, and was formerly employed by Messrs. W Green and Sons.
