Rushden Soldier Victim Sergeant Orpin Killed
It is with much regret that we have received news of the death of Sergeant William Orpin, of the King's Royal Rifle Corps.
His Captain writes that he was killed on May 1st, and adds how much he had liked Sergeant Orpin, and how well he had behaved, and that he had given his life in the best possible way, whilst bravely leading his platoon.
